Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Are My Spirit Animals

(Source) NEW YORK  — Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have signed up to host the Golden Globes for two more years.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association said Tuesday that the former “Saturday Night Live” chums will be back after a successful show earlier this year. Next year’s Golden Globes will be held in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Jan. 12.

The two stars garnered good reviews with this year’s show, with an act less biting than predecessor Ricky Gervais yet still fun.

Allen Shapiro, who runs Dick Clark Productions, said Fey and Poehler have a “truly unique chemistry.”

Sweet Jeebus this is awesome. Two more years of Poehler and Fey is just what I needed to get my mind of the guy who has sex with cars. Witty banter. Fantastic chemistry. Doesn’t hurt that they’re nice to look at it either. Powerhouse tag team that I only thought was possible through my weird dreams has now become a recurring reality. Ryan likey.

Saturday Night Live – Tina Fey & Arcade Fire

And we’re back. Oh SNL how I’ve missed thee. Season 39 opens up with one of it’s most well known cast members as the host, Tina Fey. Arcade Fire will be doing the singing tonight, but right now it’s time for good ol’ sketch comedy. Here are some of the highlights..

Cold Open – Obamacare

Jay Pharaoh and his spot on Obama impression starts us off. Obama brings up various people who are upset with his Obamacare plan, including my boy Bobby Moynihan and his son (played by newcomer Beck Bennett). Highlight of the sketch comes when Aaron Paul, in full Jesse Pinkman gear, tells us about “his friend” who got cancer and resorted to selling meth because Obamacare wouldn’t cover him.

GIRLS sketch

One of my favorite sketches of the night. Tina Fey highlights the sketch as Berla, the newest Albanian girl on the show, but Cecily Strong, Vanessa Bayer, Kate McKinnon and newcomer Noel Wells are all spot on. This group of SNL girls has the chance to be a real strong point on the show, and I’m excited for more ensemble sketches like this in the future.

E Meth Sketch

Run of the mill sketch, but I love me some Aaron Paul cameo’s. “You know it’s good cuz it’s blue, bitch.”

Weekend Update

Man, I’m gonna miss Seth Meyers. Cecily Strong comes out for her first ever Weekend Update sketch as host. Newcomer Kyle Mooney debuts his Brooklyn accented veteran stand up comic character “Bruce Chandling”. Solid job by Mooney.

DRUNK. UNCLE. Moynihan is my favorite cast member, and Drunk Uncle is his best character. AARON PAUL CAMEO ALERT. He’s drunk uncle’s “meth nephew”. If Aaron doesn’t get his chance to host soon, then I’m gonna start cracking skulls. Also, I could listen to Drunk uncle sing Whitney Houston all day.

Overall, a pretty good show, especially considering the fact that they debuted six new cast members. Arcade Fire kind of went in ear and out the other, but if you like their music, they put on a pretty good performance. I loved the Aaron Paul cameo’s, Moynihan hasn’t skipped a beat and I’m really excited for the core group of women cast members. I give the season premiere a solid 7 out 10. Next week: Miley Cyrus and her uncontrollable tongue hosts and sings!

Tina Fey & Bruce Willis Hosting SNL? Sign Me Up!

“Saturday Night Live” will turn to a familiar face to open its 39th season on NBC: Tina Fey, who will be the guest host for the premiere on Sept. 28.

On Monday, NBC announced the “SNL” guest lineup for the first three new shows of the fall season, leading off with Ms. Fey, one of the biggest stars the show has produced.

And the booking for the second week is sure to raise a few eyebrows — and some ratings points: Miley Cyrus, fresh from her much-commented on turn at the MTV Video Music Awards, will double as the guest host and musical guest on Oct. 5.

A third big name, Bruce Willis, will appear on Oct. 12, his second appearance as host.

The music acts are also high-profile. Arcade Fire will appear with Ms. Fey in the opener, and Katy Perry is booked on the show with Mr. Willis.

The choice of Ms. Fey, who starred on “SNL” for a decade, to headline the season premiere means a sure hand will be leading the cast, which is adding a raft of new members this season.

WOOF. Saturday Night Live is back. The show has very rarely disappointed me over the last few years (except you Bieber. Fuck you.). With that said, season 39 is a very big season for Lorne Michaels and company. Three major players are no longer on the active roster (Hader, Sudekis and Armisen are not returning to the show) and it’s lead writer and Weekend Update anchor, Seth Meyers, is leaving for his own late night talk show in October. While I have complete faith in Lorne’s casting, it still doesn’t hurt to stack the deck with some powerhouse hosts early on. Enter Tina Fey. She was one of the funniest actors on the show throughout the 2000s, which is saying something, considering her cast mates (Ferrell, Fallon, Parnell, Poehler, Rudolph). Add in the fact that Arcade Fire is performing and September 28th can’t come soon enough. Still need more? Two weeks later, everybody’s favorite lazy actor Bruce Willis will host the 3rd episode, with Katy Perry and her hall of fame boobs as the musical guest.

P.S. I’m just gonna pretend Miley Cyrus isn’t hosting the second episode. If she sticks her tongue out on that hallowed stage, I will personally drive to NY and kick her twerkin’ ass back to Nashville.
