‘Fresh Prince’ Was One Of The Best #SNL Pre-Taped Sketches This Season

Jessica Chastain hosted SNL for the first time Saturday night. This isn’t the first time I’ve typed that, as Chastain is the 7th first time host this season. It was a solid episode (not as good as Sam Rockwell) with highlight sketch Taco Math & great Weekend Update. The best part of show was easily ‘Fresh Prince’, which re-imagined a dark extended cut of the opening theme song.

Fresh Prince – SNL

The last two years have been some of the strongest for new cast members. Mikey Day and Alex Moffat consistently kill it. Heidi Gardner has nailed every role she’s been given. Chris Redd is also fantastic, and this was his shining moment. This story was woven so tightly and everything they added worked flawlessly. Kenan as Uncle Phil, Method Man as the head thug & Leslie Jones as Will’s mom were all perfect. Watch this, and then watch it again.

Trailer Alert – Molly’s Game

If I told you an Olympic-class skier ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons would you believe me? What if I added in that her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknown to her, the Russian mob? Seems far fetched, right? Well luckily for movie fans, truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. Molly’s Game, which will serve as the directorial debut of Aaron Sorkin (who also wrote the movie based on the book of the same name) stars Jessica Chastain as Molly Bloom, the aforementioned Olympic skier turned poker queen. This movie looks like a whole hell of a lot of fun, and stars Idris Elba, Michael Cera, Chris O’Dowd & Kevin Costner. Save the date, as Molly’s Game premiers November 22nd.

Trailer Alert – The Martian

Before you watch this trailer, can we talk about this epic cast? Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover. Ridley Scott had me at Jessi…

I may not be the best judge of movies or movie trailers because I tend to think everything is “awesome”. Example: The first BluRay movie I owned was Ghost Rider (big Nick cage fan). I get it, I’m an easy critic. So take my thoughts on “The Martain” with a grain of pixie dust: I think this looks INCREDIBLE. I already gushed abut the cast now let me gush about the visuals. Ridley Scott is the king of Sci-Fi and is looking to keep his throne with this beauty. November cannot come fast enough, I really want some turkey.
