WELP – Ecuador president Rafael Correa has been ridiculed for falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book – standing next to someone wearing an ‘I’m with stupid’ T-shirt.

Presumably, the South American didn’t want to disappoint the young fan – and probably thought a picture would do wonders for his public image.

But he probably should’ve checked the boy’s choice of attire first.

Dressed in a casual short-sleeved shirt, shorts, shades and brown loafers, 52-year-old Correa stands with an arm around the young boy’s shoulder.

However, the child, grinning knowingly, is wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the words, “I’m with stupid”, and an arrow pointing at the unsuspecting leader.

Correa, who speaks English, has no excuse for not spotting the insult.

This is kind of a tough predicament for a politician. On the one hand you don’t want to say no to a kid who wants a picture with you. On the other hand, you don’t want a picture on the internet with a kid wearing a ‘I Am With Stupid’ t-shirt. It’s one of those ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ situations. I don’t know if this kid is some sort of human genius or if he just really loves politicians. I’m going to go with the former since he’s got a huge shit eating grin on his face like he knows he just pulled a fast one on the most powerful person in his country. Also, what kind of leader is Rafael? Is he one of those fun loving jokesters or is he going to cut this kids feet off for making him look silly? You can never be too sure nowadays, and hopefully the President takes it in stride.
