While we usually reserve our music posts for Music Monday, it’s impossible to not be saddened by the sudden loss of Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington. He was only 41, and his death is being treated as an apparent suicide. It’s a shocking blow to the music world and the world at large, and again brings up the need for extensive mental health research in this country. Even if you can’t relate to suicidal feelings, it’s starting to become impossible to be a human who hasn’t been affected by it in some form or another. RIP to Chester and thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
