Shane McMahon Is Hitting Flying Elbow Drops Through Tables So It Must Be #WrestleMania Season
Isn’t it crazy that WrestleMania is only 11 days away? The biggest show of the year is taking shape, and one of the marquee matches is going to be AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon. While it would’ve been nice to have Styles fighting for a major title after the year he’s had, it’s not happening, so we might as well enjoy his feud with Shane as much as we can. Since Styles is fighting Shane at Mania, there’s one thing guaranteed to happen during the build, and it happened last night: Shane McMahon delivering a flying elbow off the top rope putting his WM opponent through a table. He did it last year to the Undertaker, and here he is again, officially reminding us that WM 33 is almost here. It seems like the match at Mania is going to be either a street fight or No DQ, and that’s good news for fans. As great as AJ Styles is, I’m not interested in watching him to try to get a passable, normal wrestling match out of 47 year old Shane McMahon.

WWE Hall of Famer George ‘The Animal’ Steele Has Passed Away
BREAKING: WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer George “The Animal” Steele has passed away at age of 79. https://t.co/TTCUVMDtTU pic.twitter.com/AeEcohPCRe
— WWE (@WWE) February 17, 2017
William James Myers, better known to wrestling fans as George ‘The Animal’ Steele, has passed away at the age of 79. Wrestling fans of the 70s and 80s know Steele as a household name, and any younger fans looking to familiarize themselves with Steele have a plethora of work to choose from. Steele performed in the days when wrestlers rarely changed their allegiances, but due to his dedication and unique look, ‘The Animal’ was able to transform from a hated heel to a beloved baby face, even helping Ricky Steamboat defeat Macho Man Randy Savage at WrestleMania 3. Whether you remember him a good or a bad guy, it’s impossible to deny his impact on the sports entertainment industry. RIP to the ‘The Animal’.

Plans Are In Place To Have Kurt Angle Wrestle In Some Capacity For The WWE
Ever since Kurt Angle was announced as the headliner of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class, fans like myself started fantasy booking some type of return to the ring. Would he link up with American Alpha? Would he reignite old feuds with AJ Styles or Samoa Joe? Would he start something new with Finn Balor, Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens? Up until this point those were all pipe dreams, but a new report from the Wrestling Observer is giving people newfound hope. While nothing is set in stone and Angle would have to pass WWE’s rigorous medical testing, it’s a step in the right direction. It goes without saying that Angle is one of the most physically gifted and entertaining wrestlers of all time, so any type of send off in addition to the Hall of Fame induction would be fantastic.

Brock Lesnar Has Retired From The UFC
BROCK – Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, who is currently suspended from competition, has informed the promotion that his professional fighting career is over.
UFC officials confirmed the news to ESPN.com on Tuesday following an initial report by MMAFighting.com.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) also confirmed it was aware of Lesnar’s retirement. Because of the retirement, Lesnar is no longer included in USADA’s testing pool under the UFC’s anti-doping program.
It looks like we might be seeing Suplex City more often than we’re used to in the WWE. Per ESPN and confirmed by the UFC, former Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is retiring. Lesnar is one of the most unique athletes in pro wrestling/MMA history, and is still the only man to hold both the WWE title and the UFC Heavyweight title. While his latest comeback this summer is now mired in controversy, it shouldn’t change the impact he’s had on either company. If the retirement from the UFC sticks, that opens up Brock for more dates to throw guys around in the WWE. He was most recently featured as a participant in the Royal Rumble, and is scheduled to fight Goldberg on April 2nd at WrestleMania 33. With Goldberg scheduled to face Kevin Owens for the Universal title at Fast Lane on March 5th, we very well could see Lesnar crowned as the new champ at WrestleMania.

Bray Wyatt Won The Elimination Chamber & Is Your New WWE Champion #WWEChamber

— Bray Wyatt (@WWEBrayWyatt) February 13, 2017
If you didn’t catch last night’s Elimination Chamber pay per view, you missed out on a landmark moment for one of WWE’s rising star and in my opinion, it’s greatest character. Bray Wyatt outlasted The Miz, Baron Corbin, Dean Ambrose, John Cena and AJ Styles to become the WWE Champion in the main event, pinning Cena and Styles to pickup the win. This is inexplicably Wyatt’s first singles title in the WWE, and it’s hard to think of someone more deserving. While guys like Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Owens & Styles have won titles during their brief singles careers, Wyatt has been relegated to a frustrating pattern of stop and start pushes. He’s carried WrestleMania season feuds with John Cena and The Undertaker, only to lose on the big stage and be sent back to the mid card. Last night he finally grabbed the brass ring, and he did it by himself. There was no assistance from Luke Harper or Randy Orton or a surprise return from Erick Rowan; it was just Wyatt, in his all glory, Sister Abigailing himself to championship gold. While anything could happen between now and WM, the smart and logical story is going to be Orton/Wyatt for the title in one of the main events, so Bray Wyatt should go into WrestleMania as the defending WWE Champion.

Samoa Joe Made His Main Roster Debut By Destroying Seth Rollins On #RAW
Samoa Joe, the first ever two time NXT champion and all around angry Samoan, made his surprise debut on Monday’s Raw and took Seth Rollins to the wood shed. Unfortunately Rollins suffered a legitimate injury during the attack which could sideline him for awhile, but the good news is Samoa Joe is finally on Raw. It looks like Joe will be HHH’s henchman going forward, but if Rollins is forced to miss an extended amount of time, that would put he and HHH’s plans for WM in serious jeopardy. Hopefully Rollins is alright, and he and Joe can put on the five star match the whole world has been waiting for.

It’s True, It’s Damn True: Kurt Angle Will Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame This Year
BREAKING: As first reported by @espn, @RealKurtAngle will be inducted into the #WWEHOF Class of 2017! https://t.co/VEog7qdACs pic.twitter.com/nwnZWt1eDu
— WWE (@WWE) January 16, 2017
Now that we’re less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble, ‘WrestleMania season’ is starting to take off. It’s far and away the best time of the year to be a wrestling fan, and a big part of that is WrestleMania weekend. One of the biggest events of that weekend is the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and we now know that Kurt Angle will be apart of the 2017 class. Angle is one of the most decorated and entertaining wrestlers in WWE history, and also happens to be a legitimate Olympic Gold Medalist. The only question left for WWE fans: will he have one more match? I hope so, but either way, congratulations to Kurt Angle on his hall of fame induction.
Former Rhode Island College Wrestler & Current WWE Performance Center Talent Terrance Jean-Jacques Has Been Arrested
WWE – A former Haverhill High wrestling great on the verge of becoming a professional wrestler is facing several criminal charges.
Terrance Jean-Jacques, 24, of 40 Locke St., who signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in April, was arrested Sunday and arraigned Wednesday on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping, witness intimidation, destruction of property and threatening to commit a crime.
He is alleged to have hit his pregnant girlfriend Jillian Gilman, who appeared in Haverhill District Court with Jean-Jacques’ parents, Teresa and Ernest.
Judge Stephen Abany ordered Jean-Jacques held without bail at Middleton jail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
A decorated wrestler at the University of Iowa and later at Rhode Island College, Jean-Jacques appeared to be on the verge of tears as he stood in the courtroom before the judge Wednesday, a maroon Rhode Island College shirt adorning his chiseled 6 foot-3 inch, 250-pound frame.
This story is both sad and troubling, and is noteworthy for a few reasons. Terrence Jean-Jacques used to wrestle right up the road at Rhode Island College and he’s currently signed to a developmental deal with WWE. Both of those things aren’t important though, because he’s currently in jail on multiple charges, including hitting his pregnant girlfriend. Hitting a woman should never be tolerated, but it’s especially awful when you find out that the woman is not only his girlfriend, but she’s also pregnant. It’s a bad story all around, and Jean-Jacques has been indefinitely suspended by the WWE. That seems like a ‘wait and see’ approach by the WWE, because if the facts in this case are correct, he’ll almost certainly be released.
