Trailer Alert – 10 Cloverfield Lane
JJ Abrams company, Bad Robot, is back at it, this time bringing what seems to be the sequel to the 2008 found-footage cult classic, Coverfield. John Goodman isn’t happy that nobody wants to play board games with him.
By the way, this is the BEST trailer i’ve seen in a long time. The perfect amount of information without giving anything away. Please don’t release more, this is perfection. I don;t need more trailers, I WILL STILL SEE YOUR MOVIE…I’m looking at you, Batman v Superman. Was Doomsday and Wonder Woman really necessary?

Trailer Alert -Trumbo
Trumbo follows famed screenwriter James Dalton Trumbo, played by Cranston, while he was blacklisted in Hollywood. For those of you who don;t know about the “blacklist”, here’s a little background into this time in America. Back when our country was stirring with the paranoia of communism there was something called the “blacklist”. This “blacklist” denied any work to the person on it, so you could see how this could put a damper in the life of someone on it. Trumbo is the story of James Trumbo’s work while on the blacklist.
Alongside Cranston is a cast I can only describe as delightful. Louis CK, Helen Mirren, Diane Lane and John Goodman to name a few. I plan on seeing this at a local theater sometime next week. If it’s playing near you I suggest you do the same.

PS – Ryan and I were going to see this movie regardless of what the trailer and reviews showed. Gotta support our good buddy Bry.

Trailer Alert – Batman V Superman 3rd Trailer [MEGA SPOILERS]
Don’t watch this trailer if you want to leave some important plot points for the day you see it. If you don’t care about shit like that, and you are going to see the movie 5 times in theaters anyway, then go ahead and watch.
Let’s talk…I’m not even going to touch on the obvious here – Doomsday, General Zod’s body, Wonder woman? Not here for that, let’s talk about Lex Luthor. Being a child of superman TV shows and comics I know Lex Luthor as being this massive dude with an equally massive brain (please leave out Kevin Spacey in this conversation, that movie didn’t happen). Here I see this scrawny, spaghetti haired (probably a wig) dude/kid who gives off a serious wildcard vibe. I LOVE it. I cannot wait to see this movie. What are your thoughts?

Trailer Alert – My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2
I can’t put into a blog how excited I am for my favorite Greek family (besides the people that sell my my Gyros down the street) to return to the big screen! When I was waiting for the trailer to start the only thing that was running through my head was: “This movie can be great, just like the original, but it NEEDS the original cast”. To my delight, there everyone was! Can’t wait for this movie to hit theaters, i’m so excited I may get blisters on my fingers from watching the trailer so many times. But it’s ok, i’ll just spray some Windex on it.

Trailer Alert – Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Wow, just wow. Just when I thought these trailers couldn’t possibly be any better, without giving away major plot points, they go and drop this right on my dome. I know I embellish a lot of trailers on here for the sake of humor, but I dare you to watch this (being a true fan of the series) and not get a tingle up your spine. They rode the line just right during the promotion of this movie. Left A LOT to the imagination and let nostalgia do the talking. Let’s hope this is the last thing to come out of JJ’s arsenal until the release date. I have a really good feeling about this cast.

Trailer Alert – Fallout 4 Gets a the Live Action Treatment
Video game developers really know how to kick you in the feels with a commercial for their newest game. For example: Last week I saw an ad for Halo 5, I game I had no intention on buying, and later that night i preordered it on Amazon. That’s some powerful advertising. Iv’e already had Fallout 4 preordered for months, so no impulse buy here, but what this ad did do for me is get me prepped for the game iv’e been waiting for, for years. It’s amazing what a well placed song will do.

Trailer Alert: Beasts Of No Nation
Beasts of No Nation, which was bought by Netflix and will officially debut on the platform and in theatres October 16th, is the heartbreaking story of the journey of a child solider in Africa. The big name star is Idris Elba, who plays the mercenary, but the movie’s heart and soul is first time actor Ama K. Abebrese. The film was written and directed by Cary Fukunaga, who was the man behind the camera for all of season 1 of True Detective. He’s an amazing director, and you get a taste for his unique shooting style in certain scenes in the trailer, so I can’t wait to see the entire finished product next month. I’d personally watch Idris Elba tie his shoes for two hours, so I have to imagine he’s amazing here, just like he is in everything else.

Trailer Alert: The Hateful Eight
Quentin Tarantino’s 8th feature film has it’s first trailer, and it’s as glorious as you’d expect. It’s got a monster cast, and few people can realistically bring you back you centuries like Tarantino can with his set designs. Plus, this movie was shot with 70mm film, making it the widest released movie format in over 20 years. Similar to Django, The Hateful Eight will be released on Christmas Day, so gather the family and get ready for everyone to be killed old west style. Also, Kurt Russell’s character’s nickname is ‘The Hangman’ because of course it is. I hope there’s an extended scene with him and Samuel L. Jackson playing the game.
