Ever since The Meyerowitz Stories (New And Selected) premiered at Cannes earlier this year I’ve been eager to see a trailer. With Netflix purchasing the film (and all of our souls) we finally get a trailer and a premiere date on the streaming platform. I’m a huge Adam Sandler fan, and while it’s easy to pick on him for his very real knack of making movies with his friends rather than exploring whatever artistic ambition it is we think all actors should be exploring, I choose to focus on the positive. He’s made ALOT of really funny movies, and although he picks a serious role on rare occasions, he’s almost always very good at it. Punch-Drunk Love, Click, Reign Over Me, Funny People; Sandler isn’t reinventing the acting wheel in any of those roles, but people find it easier to write him off rather than give him credit where credit is certainly due. I can’t speak for his role in Meyerowitz Stories, but if the critics like it, chances are I will too.

Sandler isn’t the only character to look forward to, either. The rest of the cast includes Ben Stiller, Emma Thompson, Adam Driver & Dustin Hoffman. The Meyerowitz Stories (New And Selected) premieres on Netflix October 13.
