Jon Stewarts on RAW, LeSean McCoy is on the Bills, Cats love dogs, and I don’t know whats happening to the world!
The ‘5 Stars of Raw’ post is coming out later, but I wanted to make sure I got Jon Stewart’s interaction with Seth Rollins out there first. Last night on Raw, Seth Rollins hosted his version of The Daily Show, which brought out Stewart to confront Rollins and defend his own honor. What followed was a promo by a superb public speaker who also has a deep respect and knowledge for the history of pro wrestling. This was not a promo written by the WWE writers so Stewart could sound smart and name drop some Hall of Famers. This was a promo by an admitted wrestling fan who is just a very passionate guy, and it showed last night. The best part of this entire segment is it furthered Rollins’ character development. Stewart never made Rollins look ‘bad’. He just pointed out how much a weasel he is, and although he’s a gifted athlete and one hell of a wrestler, he took the easy way out and joined The Authority to further his own career. In other words, he’s a very good wrestling bad guy. I loved every second of this, and if Jon Stewart ever decides he wants to come back on Raw, the WWE should welcome him back with open arms.
WRESTLING – WWE issued the following today:
JON STEWART AND SETH ROLLINS™ TO SETTLE THE SCORE TONIGHT ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW®
STAMFORD, Conn., March 2, 2015 – WWE® Superstar Seth Rollins and Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, will finally settle the score in their on-going feud, live tonight on Monday Night Raw at 8/7C on USA Network.
Rollins and Stewart’s feud began when Mr. Money in the Bank claimed he could make The Daily Show With Jon Stewart “watchable” by hosting the program when Stewart leaves. Stewart and Rollins have since traded verbal jabs and came face-to-face last Thursday when Rollins invaded The Daily Show With Jon Stewart during Stewart’s “Moment of Zen” and challenged him to face him once and for all at Monday Night Raw.
Stewart, a longtime fan of WWE, is the host of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, a satirical news program that airs on Comedy Central. Stewart announced on February 10, 2015, during a taping of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart that he will leave the show before the end of 2015. This Sunday, March 8, Stewart will host Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs on Comedy Central at 8pm ET/PT.
This is me right now, anxiously awaiting Jon Stewart and Seth Rollins going face to face on Raw. Will they wrestle at WrestleMania? Will Randy Orton defend Jon Stewarts honor? Will J & J Security get involved and then get immediately beaten up? (yes) The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait (just like every other week) to watch Raw tonight.
Seth Rollins Showed Up on ‘The Daily Show’ Last Night & Officially Challenged Jon Stewart To Come To Raw
In case you haven’t been following this story, Seth Rollins casually mentioned he could take over for Jon Stewart on ‘The Daily Show’ during a recent Raw, to which Jon Stewart replied via YouTube, to which Seth Rollins re replied via TMZ’s YouTube. Rollins thinks he would a better (and funnier) host of ‘The Daily Show’ and Jon Stewart is an American hero who will not go quietly into the night. Well last night, things hit a boiling point when Rollins sneakily appeared on ‘The Daily Show’ and issued an open challenge for Stewart to appear on this week’s Raw from New Jersey. I have to imagine Stewart will show up in some capacity, or else why would he go through all the trouble of having Rollins confront him on air. I would love for the story to be that Stewart and Randy Orton are best friends, and Rollins picking on Stewart is what finally makes Randy snap and RKO him into next year. Either that or Orton and Jon Stewart vs. Seth Rollins and J & J Security at WrestleMania 31 in a handicap tag match. I’ll be happy with either of those things happening.
Just to catch you up: Seth Rollins cut a promo on Raw saying he was capable of anything, both inside and outside the WWE ring. One of the things he mentioned that he was capable of doing was taking over for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show. Stewart responded in the first video above, to which Rollins responded via TMZ in the second video. Is Jon Stewart Seth Rollins’s ideal opponent at WrestleMania? No, no he is not. But if the WWE can’t figure out a way to get Randy Orton back on TV, bring in the promo master himself Jon Stewart and let’s see the second worst WrestleMania match ever! (Bret Hart/Vince will never be unseated as the worst match in mania history) If you don’t want to hear Jon Stewart cut a lengthy promo on Raw about which kind of wood he see’s himself as then I’m not sure I like you as a person.
Jon Stewart leaving ‘The Daily Show’ was going to be tough whenever it happened, but losing him around the same time as Colbert and Letterman really shakes up the late night TV hierarchy. Colbert will be taking over for Letterman, but it won’t be the Colbert we all love and remember. Naturally when something like this happens, we turn to Twitter for the most thought out and rational responses. Take it away, tweeters.
I worry for the USA without Jon Stewart like I would would worry for a cartoon character that lost the angel on its shoulder.

This is actually beautiful. Well said, Solitary Refinement (if that’s your real name).
With the retiring of Jon Stewart and the rise of BuzzFeed, I’m worried about the future of our country.

Shhh Eric, BuzzFeed can hear you. It hears everything at all times.
getting texts from friends sending their condolences to me about the retirement of Jon Stewart lol. That’s how much this man has meant to me

We feel your pain, Karl. But have no fear, he’ll be back someday.
Really hoping Jon Stewart takes over NBC Nightly News and Brian Williams takes over The Daily Show. It’d be just like Freaky Friday!

Whoever had 50-1 odds on the Jamie Lee Curtis movie reference/Jon Stewart leaving The Daily Show just won a shitload of money.
But actually though, can we start fundraising for Jon Stewart for President? Cause that’s something I could support

I mean, why not?
— HitFix (@HitFix) February 11, 2015
Oh god. Please no. Don’t leave us Jon!
