#MusicMonday: The Ataris – Boys Of Summer
90 degree Monday in mid June? Looks like it’s time to start blasting ‘Boys of Summer’ 24/7. Have a great Monday everybody.

Mark McGrath, Uncle Kracker & Kevin Griffin Started A Musical Trio & Their First Song Is Actually A Jam
If you told me the guy from Sugar Ray, the guy from Better Than Ezra and UNCLE KRACKER would start the musical version of the Avengers and have the song of the early summer, I’d probably slap you in the mouth. But here we are, and here is B.Y.H.B, which stands for Bring Your Hot Body because of course it does. I heard a snippet of this on the radio this morning and had to find out more, and reading about it basically transported me back 20 years. I hope Uncle Ezra Ray (which is their official group name) go on tour all summer so I can follow them around like the weirdest groupie that ever lived. If that doesn’t happen, I hope they at least keep putting out sunshine jams like this one.

Taste of The Bay – Photo Recap
Last night the Average Nobodies were out in full effect. For those of you that don’t live in the Providence area, or don’t know of this event, last night was Save The Bay’s 3rd Annual “Taste of The Bay” beer, wine, and food tasting. The event was a huge success! For those of you who didn’t attend there is always next year. Not convinced? Check out these photos!
Narragansett Beer is Turning the Beer Game Upside Down and Inside Out
For those of you non Rhode Islanders/New Englanders, this is kind of a big deal. I’m not a huge Gansett fan when it’s a can (span tan Jan), but I love lemonade. And if I can drink something that tastes like lemonade and also get drunk, well then you had me at hello. Bravo Narragansett. Next step is getting this snow out of the way and letting the sun do its thing. Uncle Ryan has a beach date with a 6er of these shandy’s.

Monsterblog Wednesday: Pandora Stations
Pandora makes the world go round. That is a scientific fact. Instead of wasting precious minutes, hours or days (!) on the wrong Pandora stations, let us give you ours. Proceed with caution.
Matt’s Picks
Internet radio has changed the way I listen to music. Instant playlists that will melt your heart or pump you up for a work out from hell is what Pandora is all about. Here are my picks for all around good listening
Summer Oldies Radio: Taking you back to the golden years without putting you to sleep. Put this on by the pool, or on a roof top in the city and you’re in for a good time.
Sample Track List: Van Morrison – Brown Eyed Girl • Frankie Valli & the 4 Seasons – Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You • Dion and the Belmont – The Wanderer.
Classic Rock Radio: Put away your polo shirt and bust out the old AC/DC cutoff. This playlist is sure to get your weekend started and put you in the mood for a road trip or a fist fight.
Sample Tack List: AC/DC – Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap • Grand Funk Railroad – Some Kind of Wonderful • Foreigner – Hot Blooded.
Reel Big Fish Radio: For all you ska fans out there, you know who you are, check out this playlist. The bouncy rhythm that the ska genre has to offer is bound to get anyone in the right mood! Feeling blue? Put on the Fish!
Sample Track List: Reel Big Fish – The New Version of You • Streetlight Manifesto – Sick and Sad • Less Than Jake – Liquor Store

Ryan’s Picks
Ben E. King Radio: Mr. King brings you back to the soul music of the 60s and 70s, mixed with some classic Doo Wop. I personally consider any day in which I hear “Stand By Me” a gigantic win.
Sample Track List: Ben. E King – There Goes My Baby • Johnny Maestro & The Crests – In The Still Of The Night • Dion – I Wonder Why
80s Cardio Radio: If you need to get pumped up, and we all do from time to time, then you put on 80s cardio. Nothing screams “we were all on cocaine” more than a synthesizer heavy 80s jam.
Sample Track List: Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) • C+C Music Factory – Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) • Michael Sembello – Maniac
Tommy Castro Radio: Castro isn’t as mainstream as some of these other stations, but he still gets the job done. He’s a mix of blues and rock, with a hint of Stevie Ray Vaughn. Listening to his guitar solos makes me want to dance, which is usually bad news for anyone within eyesight.
Sample Track List: Tommy Castro – Let’s Give Love A Try • Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials – You Just Weren’t There • Taj Mahal – Down Home Girl

Happy listening.
Seems Like a Good Time to Re Post This – What I Learned This Weekend: I Hate Yard Sales
I came to a startling realization this weekend: I despise yard sales. Everywhere I drove on Saturday and Sunday, I saw tables set up on front lawns filled with lamps and toasters and a bunch of other useless crap. All I could think about while driving by these yard sales is how crazy the people doing this are. When I was younger, my parent’s would have yard sales, but I was a kid and I was forced against my will to be apart of it. Now that I’m a fully functional adult, I can’t think of something worse than spending a beautiful Saturday afternoon sitting on my front lawn waiting for strangers to come onto my property and buy shit I don’t want anymore. How has eBay and Craigslist not destroyed the yard sale game? What kind of a person actually wants to interact with strangers who haggle you down from $3 to $2.25 for an old watch that can’t even tell time? Psychopaths. Only psychopath’s would want to do that. Next time someone brings up the idea of a yard sale, tell them to put their shit on eBay, grab a case of beer and enjoy your summer Saturdays like a real American.

P.S. Don’t forget to follow us on twitter @averagenobodies. Unless you like yard sales. Your kind isn’t welcome.
Monsterblog Wednesday: Favorite Summertime Jams
The summer and music go together like a fine wine paired with an aged cheese. In other words, they’re made for each other. Everyone has their personal favorites, and the Average Nobodies are no exception. While certain songs work during any time of the day, there are those special jams that help get your day started and others that never fail to relax you. Here are our favorite daytime and nighttime summer jams.
Daytime Jam: Weezer – Island In The Sun
Classic jam from a classic band. This song had always been an ideal sunny day relaxation nation beer in hand type of song for me. I also have a sick obsession with playing songs over and over again, and on a hot summer’s day, this song is no exception. Plus it has the words “island” and “sun” in it, so you know it’s good.
Nighttime Jam: Dave Matthews Band – Crash Into Me
My favorite song from my favorite band. Just an absolute gem. I can’t think of a better song to wind down too after a long day at the beach. Literal music to my ears. If you can’t get down to Dave Matthews, then you have no soul.
– Ryan
Daytime Jam: Sublime – Santeria
The proof is tattooed on the inside of my right bicep. Sublime is by far my favorite band. They have a song for every kind of mood that I am in, and Santeria happens to be my “daytime summer” mood track. Just listen to this song and get lost in the day.
Nighttime Jam: Atmosphere – Always Coming Back Home To You
Atmosphere has some deep tracks, none deeper than “Always Coming Back Home To You”. Slug paints you a picture worthy of the silver screen on this one. Nothing is better than summer nights while getting lost in the Atmosphere.

The Summer, and Why I Hate It
Summertime is upon us. Hot weather, sand between your toes, sweat dripping down your brow, and sunburns; the whole bit. People love this time of year, but not this guy. Give me sweaters, snow, and frostbite any day. For me, this time of year is a constant struggle for comfort. The search for cool temperatures is my crusade, and air conditioners are my holy grail. “Why are you sitting inside”, people shout. Why? Because I’m not a lunatic who likes to sit in 95° weather with 99% humidity.
Is it winter yet? And how long till thanksgiving? I’m hungry.
