Well then. Business has certaintly picked up between CM Punk and Hulk Hogan, who naturally are arguing over the Stanley Cup playoffs. If you told me 10 years ago that Hulk Hogan and CM Punk would be in a promo war over the Stanley Cup Finals I’d probably call you a liar, but here we are. CM Punk is retired and Hulk Hogan is lobbying to wrestle at WrestleMania 32. We live in a weird world sometimes. While the video was pretty tame from a verbiage standpoint, the tweets between the two have been a little intense:
Like I said the Blackhawks are in a whole lot of trouble, they should take their puck”punk” and go home,CM can show them the way brother HH

The NHL is consistently the best at commercials that both chronicle their history and show the importance of the series that’s about to be played. While a lot of other sports have “sold out”, Lord Stanley’s Cup is still as prestigious as was when it was first introduced. Search any Stanley Cup playoff commercial and I guarantee you you’ll get goose bumps. I don’t even like hockey and I think this commercial is awesome. Also Liev Schreiber should probably narrate every video ever. He dominated 24/7 on HBO, and he dominates in this commercial as well.
This kid gets to go into space and now he’s chillin’ with the cup?! First off dude, please get dressed. You’re meeting the Stanley Cup, one of the most prestigious awards (the most prestigious is the WWE title) not going to a damn rock concert! Have some class, there are guys who touched that trophy that could snap you in two…with just their beards! Whats that finger your holding up for? Is that the amount of times you want me to kick your ass? BECAUSE I”M HAPP……wow…ok..i’m sorry. That got a little out of hand. Bieber brings out the worst in me. Give The Cup a good scrub down after he’s done with it. Don’t wanna have that Bieber stink on it.
PS- Is that really a customized Blackhawks jersey in the background? What a piece of trash.
Last night we saw the Chicago Blackhawks capture their second Stanley Cup in four years. As a Boston Bruins fan, I say congratulations. Like I said a few weeks ago Im a fan of theirs too, but I was rooting for the Bruins on this one.
Chicago was the clear cut best team all season and they finished the only way they could. The Bruins have nothing to be ashamed of. In a game that had a little over a minute left to push it to a seventh contest Chicago never gave up and beat Boston fair and square. Boston shouldn’t hang their heads on a fantastic run. It’s depressing to go down like that but at the end of the day it was a war that will go down as one of the best in the history books.
Next season should be interesting and I’m a firm believer that in hockey it’s any teams game all season. It would be something to see a finals repeat though. Have a great summer everyone!
Last night the Boston Bruins beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in double overtime to take a 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. It was a great team effort, top to bottom, Tuukka Rask was outstanding for Boston, but the real hero here is Bruins forward Gregory Campbell.
On a penalty kill in the 2nd period Campbell took a slap shot to the leg as he blocked a shot toward the Boston net. He went down for about 10 seconds and hobbled around for another 60, giving his team everything he had in what would be his last minute of the 2013 season. Campbell broke his leg on the play.
Which brings me to my point, hockey players are the toughest athletes in sports. Any other event, NFL, NBA, or MLB there would’ve been an immediate stoppage with everyone and their brother from the medical staff out there to carry him off the field of play. But not in hockey. Campbell got back to his feet, played another 60, and skated off on his own power. That. Takes. Balls. A similar incident happened to Nicholas Hjalmersson of the Chicago Blackhawks the other night, same heart to stay out and finish your shift. Fortunately for him no serious injury occurred.
Baseball players miss weeks or months with a broken finger. Hockey players don’t miss practice. Basketball players can’t bump each other. Hockey players level each other. If there’s a fight in football, call the federal government. You’re allowed to fight in hockey.
To wrap this up, if you’re not a fan of hockey, watch these playoffs and you’ll be hooked. Hop on a teams bandwagon and see where it takes you because the respect you develop for these guys night in and night out is more than enough to grow the fan base of the NHL and hockey everywhere.
I’d say the answer in unequivocally yes, but I’m not sure what he does is considered walking anymore…poor taste, I’ll pay for that some day soon don’t worry. But seriously, everytime I see this guy in the news I tremble with excitement. Damnit…Alright that one was unintentional.
So recently, Mr. Fox was given a cupcake arrangement the shape of the Stanley cup. And each cupcake has the logo of a different NHL playoff team. Michael has been tweeting pictures of himself eating the cupcakes of each team as that team get eliminated. Of course he’s accompanying them with a short one liner. Here’s the link for the bleacher report article on it.
As for this article I want to really talk about how great Mr. Fox is. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the middle of a great career, he has really stayed relevant throughout the years. Of course it’s not about staying noticed, or staying in the public eye. The inspiration comes from his refusal to let his affliction define him, instead he has redefined what it means to live with Parkinson’s today. His charitable work to raise money for Parkinson’s research is unparalleled, but for me the amazing thing is his ability to laugh at himself. Mr. Fox shows us it’s okay to laugh at life’s lowest moments because it means you haven’t lost. If you keep fighting you can never lose.
Nothing shows Michael J. Fox’s spirit more than these hilarious clips from Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Oh and his short feud with Taylor Swift when he said he would never let his son date her was such a clairvoyant power move. He knew Swift was no good before the rest of us. Thanks for the heads up, Mike!
