Larry David Stole The Show As Bernie Sanders During SNL’s ‘Democratic Debate’ Cold Open

I knew SNL was going to spoof the democratic debate during Saturday night’s show, but what I did not expect was Larry David to make a surprise cameo and steal the show, and possibly even the season. He was SO GOOD. When he first appeared, I knew it wasn’t Sanders but couldn’t put my finger on who it was, because whoever it was, it looked just like Bernie. Then I recognized the voice, and after that it was pure bliss. SNL is probably the only show in the world where a writer quits the show because none of his sketches made the air and then 30 years later he’s starring in the cold open sketch as a presidential candidate.  This was probably the sketch of the night, and I wouldn’t be mad if Larry showed up again for an encore.

Tracy Morgan Is Here To Host SNL & Get Everyone Pregnant

This Saturday’s SNL will be different than most SNL’s, and it’s not because a former cast member is hosting. That has happened many times before, but I can’t remember a more beloved former cast member hosting so soon after a life altering moment, but that’s what happening this Saturday when Tracy Morgan takes the stage. He was involved in an almost fatal car accident that killed one of his friends, and a man who was a source of so much joy on both SNL and 30 Rock was fighting for his life. He’s made a remarkable physical recovery, and I’m so glad Lorne Michaels brought him back to host, because you know it’s going to be great for both him and the audience. Saturday night should be special.

Donald Trump Will Host The November 7th Episode of #SNL

SNL is live for it’s third straight episode this Saturday with host and SNL alum Tracy Morgan, but the big news of the day is that Donald Trump will host the next episode after that, airing on November 7th. Having a person who is currently running for President is big enough to begin with, but add in the fact that it’s DONALD TRUMP and you have some major news. The SNL writing team must be licking their chops right now because they have to have so much ammo ready for him. Trump has a big ego, but he also strikes me as someone who would be able to make fun of himself, especially if it means it would help his campaign. This episode is going to be bonkers.

My Favorite Sketch From Miley Cyrus’s #SNL: Bar Talk

It’s usually not a good sign when the best sketch (or at least my favorite sketch) doesn’t involve the host, but I actually liked this episode. Miley Cyrus is a weird host, because she’s a weird person, and sometimes she tries to push her ‘edginess’ too far. I get she’s transition from child star Hannah Montana to early 20’s Miley Cyrus, but sometimes it’s a little much. Her musical performances were odd if not touching, and she did a pretty good job as host as well. I liked the ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and Kyle Mooney marriage bits, but my favorite sketch was easily ‘Bar Talk’. Kate McKinnon does a great Hillary Clinton, and although the character is still in it’s early stages, she and Hillary had a great back and forth during this sketch. The gay marriage bit was the most important part, especially since McKinnon is SNL’s first openly gay cast member to come out while still a member of the current cast. Hillary’s trump impression was funny too, and although I have no clue who I’ll be voting for in the presidential election, it’s good for the candidates to show their human side. Overall a good but not great episode, but with Amy Schumer & Tracy Morgan on tap, SNL should be hitting it’s stride sooner rather than later.

Watch All Your 90’s Dreams Come True As Kenan & Kel Star In A ‘Goodburger’ Sketch On The Tonight Show

‘Goodburger’ is one of those sketches turned into movies that are timeless. It’s not the greatest sketch or movie in the world, but I dare you to watch that video above and not get a huge slap of nostalgia right in the face. Fallon is the master of nostalgia, and it helps that he has such a great rapport with pretty much everyone in show business, because he can bring them in for something like this at the drop of a hat. Kenan & Kel were a dynamic duo, and even if it was only for one night, I’m glad they reunited. Now if you’ll excuse I’m going to be watching Kenan & Kel highlights for the rest of the afternoon.

SNL Pals Jimmy Fallon & Jason Sudekis Played ‘Drinko’ On The Tonight Show

As a big time SNL fan, I love that Jimmy Fallon is the host of The Tonight Show, because any time you turn on the show, there’s a solid chance an old SNL alum is going to be on, and it’s going to be fun and adorable. Jason Sudekis was never the ‘main guy’ on SNL, but a sketch was always better when he was in it. He could play the straight guy, the wacky guy and everything in between, and he genuinely loved being on the show. He and Fallon reunited last night, and played Fallon’s version of Plinko, which is Drinko. The rules are simple: you drop discs down a Plinko board and whatever two cups the discs land in, you mix together and  drink it. The creepiest part: the hands that come out of nowhere to give you the cups. The best part: no discs land in the tequila cup, but Sudekis drinks it anyway.

It’s That Time Of Year Again: SNL Has Announced It’s First 3 Hosts For Season 41

The end of summer signifies a lot of beautiful things (football!) but my personal favorite might be that SNL returns. A weekend filled with SNL on Saturday night and football all day Sunday is the only weekend there should be, but unfortunately the summer robs us of both. Well the summer is almost over, and SNL is coming back with a bang. One of the most talented two way performers in Miley Cyrus is hosting the season debut, followed by the red hot Amy Schumer, who will be followed by former cast member Tracy Morgan. That is a murderers row of talented people to start a season. Cyrus is the only one who doesn’t have sketch comedy experience, but she’s hosted before and is always down to do whatever is asked. Schumer has her own sketch show, and while it’s not in front of a live audience, she clearly knows comedy and is going to kill it. Tracy Morgan is the most surprising name on the list, but after his accident, it’s awesome to see Lorne invite him back to the stage that made him a household name. October 3rd can’t come soon enough.

Cut For Time Michael Keaton SNL Sketches Are The BEST SNL Sketches

Michael Keaton had some of the most memorable moments of the 40th season of SNL, so there is no wonder why some really funny sketches needed to be cut. Thank god for the internet.
