Mindhunter Renewed For Season 2

Season 1 of Mindhunter was one of the finest Netflix original dramas ever, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise it’s been renewed. It’s still nice to have the official confirmation though, and Netflix made the announcement via the official Mindhunter Twitter account. We dove deep into season 1 of the show on episode 53 of the Average Nobodies podcast, but you should really check it out for yourself. Jonathan Gross & Holt McCallany are one of the more unique and fascinating cop pairings on TV while Cameron Britton’s Edmund Kemper will destroy you.
The show weaves multiple storylines throughout it’s first season, and ends the final episode with a few stories still left unsolved. I won’t spoil anything if you haven’t seen season 1, although it would be odd to be reading a renewal post for a show you haven’t seen. I digress. Watch season 1 as soon as possible and then join everyone else on Planet Earth for the countdown to season 2.

Trailer Alert: The Leftovers Season 2
The Leftovers was one of my favorite shows last season, and the full trailer for season 2 is long overdue. It was dark, sure, but the acting and writing were great, and it’s nice to see a creator not be afraid to get and stay dark throughout a season. After all, the show IS about people disappearing and no one knowing why. The scenery changes for season 2, as we see some familiar faces arriving in a town called Miracle which somehow hasn’t had any departures yet. We’re also introduced to some new characters, and while the first half of the trailer shows most of the characters pretty happy, we know bad news is right around the corner. Season 2 premiers this fall.

Trailer Alert: Fargo Season 2
Season 1 of Fargo was one of the most delightful surprises on TV, and now Season 2 takes us back to 1979 with an Abe Lincoln bearded Nick Offerman and a stacked cast that includes Ted Danson, Kirsten Dunst, Brad Garrett, Patrick Wilson and that son of a bitch Todd from Breaking Bad. If you put all those actors together with the brains behind season 1 of Fargo and make a bad TV show, you are really bad at your job. I can’t wait for good old fashioned Minnesota violence. Fargo season 2 premiers in October.

Trailer Alert – True Detective Season 2
HBO teased us with a teaser a month ago for the new season of True Detective, but now we get a full trailer with dialogue and internal conflicts and fancy tracking shots. I’m excited for this season because I’m glad they decided to take up a different setting and storyline. It’s still cops going after bad guys, but the first season of True Detective was one of the most depressing things I’ve ever watched. It was great, but I don’t know if my psyche could handle another season of that. Season 2 is set in LA and the possibilities are endless for filming there. The cast is pretty dynamite too, and I have a feeling Taylor Kitsch is going to be the show stealer by the time the season’s over. June 21st can’t come soon enough.

Vince Vaughn Will Star Opposite Colin Farrell in the New ‘True Dectective’
Exactly 24 hours after the leak of Colin Farrell staring in season 2 of ‘True Detective’ we have found his co-star. Longtime funny man and swingers star, Vince Vaughn will be starring alongside Farrell in the upcoming second installment of the critically acclaimed HBO series. Personally I love this move. Never before have you seen these two guys starring side-by-side, because, honestly, they are so very different. I am excited to see what Vaughn brings to the drama table.

Colin Farrell Signs on for Season 2 of ‘True Dectective’
Colin Farrell says he will star in HBO’s True Detective‘s upcoming second season, according to an interview published in the Irish newspaper The Sunday World, cited by multiple outlets, including The New York Times. The cable network had no immediate comment. A source close to the matter had told E! News in July that the Irish actor was being considered for a role.
“I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited,” The Sunday World quoted Farrell as saying.

True detective just got a whole lot more Irish. While they have not released a co-star, if there even is one, I am excited for Farrell to join the new installment. While I though the first True Detective lacked in story, I can say confidently that they hit the nail on the head for casting and acting. Will Colin’s accent be joining us for season 2? A man can dream.

Give me “S.W.A.T” Colin Farrell or give me death.
