Gal Gadot & Kumail Nanjiani Join Ryan Gosling As The First 3 Hosts For Season 43 Of #SNL

Happy Fall! #SNL

A post shared by Saturday Night Live (@nbcsnl) on

Nothing screams FALL! quite like SNL announcing their hosts and musical guests for a new season and per usual, the lineup is wonderful. We already knew Ryan Gosling would be back for his second stint as host during the season premiere accompanied by Jay-Z, but the big news is that we got a couple of first timers in Gal Gadot and Kumail Nanjiani as the hosts for episodes 2 and 3. I just watched The Big Sick last week and it was as great as the reviews foretold it to be, and Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman. Very few things beat the joyfulness of first time hosts, so I can’t wait to see them both in action. Their musical guests will be the only living, breathing angel Sam Smith and the only woman with an exclamation point in her name, P!nk. Season premiere is next week!

If You’re A Fan Of New Music, Today Is Your Lucky Day

Not only did we get the glorious return of football last night (with much more to come this Sunday) but we also got a BOAT LOAD of new music on Spotify. An actual big boat filled with music. Thomas Rhett released his new album (go listen to Leave Right Now…right now), Sam Smith released his new sob inducing single Too Good at Goodbyes, plus Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, St. Vincent, Jack Johnson and a ton of other artists released new stuff. What I’m saying is you should stop reading this and go listen to that music right goddamn now.

Sam Smith & His Beautiful Baby Bird Voice Covered Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ For BBC Radio

My sweet obsession with Sam Smith continues, and after he was pegged to sing the theme song for the new James Bond movie ‘Spectre’, he decided to hop back into the BBC studios with his pals Disclosure and cover some Drake. I’d listen to Sam Smith sing a 10 minute about how much he hates me, so needless to say I love this.

Sam Smith & His Precious Baby Turtle Throat Are Back!

Reaction GIF: whoa, excited, wrestling

Sam Smith has been out of action with some kind of throat illness, and I’ve been silently wallowing in a Olympic sized swimming pool of sadness ever since. Well it looks like things are turning around for ol’ Sammy, because he just announced he’s coming to Australia in November and December, as Australian fans were the unfortunate victims of his illness when he canceled his tour there. I got to see him live at MSG in New York, and he was incredible, so if he’s coming to a city or continent near you and you enjoy live music you should go out of your way to see him.

Prepare To Swoon: Sam Smith Featuring John Legend – Lay Me Down

Sam Smith and John Legend got together for Red Nose Day to sing a cover version of Smith’s ‘Lay Me Down’, and as expected it is quite fantastic. Red Nose Day, as it turns out, is NOT a celebration of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, but it IS a British tradition where artists from every spectrum come together to raise money for charities and causes that are near and dear to them. While this is obviously for a good cause, I’m just glad these two got together, because their musical baby sounds pretty awesome.

Sam Smith Won Four Grammy’s Last Night & His Worldwide Takeover Is In Full Effect

Lost in all the Grammy hatred and Kanye stupid-ness was the fact that Sam Smith dominated the Grammys last night. I’ve been on the Sam Smith bandwagon for almost a year now, so it was great to see him get the accolades he deserves. The important of the Grammys (or any award) will always be debated inside and outside the various industries, but Smith wrote a deeply personal album that sky rocketed up the charts, allowed him to tour around the world and bestowed upon him four awards at the most important award show for his craft. Not a bad year for Sam Smith and the Smith-a-maniacs (trademark pending).

Insane Instagram Comments: Sam Smith Better Get Used To Kissing Demons

image

This is obviously an insane thing to post on of all things an Instagram video of Sam Smith releasing the art to his new music video, but it also made me legitimately laugh out loud. The chain mail text/email/comment is a strategy as old as time, but this one automatically moves to the top of my list because it’s so vague and specific at the same time. It starts off specific: “post this on 15 other posts”, then gets very vague: “and you will be kissed”, then gets very specific again: “if you break the chain you will see a demon in 53 minutes”. Copying that comment on 15 other posts isn’t that difficult, but you have to make sure you’re posting it on celebrity posts where it can get lost in the comment shuffle and not your friends post where it’s the only comment and you look insane. The kissed thing creeps me out more than the demon thing if I’m being honest. It just says “you will be kissed”. By whom? I don’t want to share this comment to 15 different Instagram’s and then head out to the market and have some old man come over and try to kiss me. I’m not sure why my head jumped right to that specific scenario but it did and I really don’t want that to happen. You can’t post a comment like this and just be that vague in the middle of it. I want to know who I’m getting kissed by when I spread this propaganda around. If you know a demon is going to come 53 minutes after I refuse to share this comment then the least you can do is tell me who’s going to kiss me.
