Mindhunter Renewed For Season 2

Season 1 of Mindhunter was one of the finest Netflix original dramas ever, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise it’s been renewed. It’s still nice to have the official confirmation though, and Netflix made the announcement via the official Mindhunter Twitter account. We dove deep into season 1 of the show on episode 53 of the Average Nobodies podcast, but you should really check it out for yourself. Jonathan Gross & Holt McCallany are one of the more unique and fascinating cop pairings on TV while Cameron Britton’s Edmund Kemper will destroy you.
The show weaves multiple storylines throughout it’s first season, and ends the final episode with a few stories still left unsolved. I won’t spoil anything if you haven’t seen season 1, although it would be odd to be reading a renewal post for a show you haven’t seen. I digress. Watch season 1 as soon as possible and then join everyone else on Planet Earth for the countdown to season 2.

Jonathan Groff singing Queen (you’re welcome)
Let Jesse St. James IGNITE your weekend.
If you watched GLEE, you know that Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) is the best/most talented character on the show. That’s not an opinion either. That’s COLD HARD FACTS. He had Rachel Berry swooin’ like you wouldn’t believe, but always played hard to get. That’s who Jesse St. James is. The bad boy. Girls wanted him and guys(Mr. Schuster) wanted to be him. A lot of qualities I relate with…….except not at all.
If you need more of Jesse St. James (or just more impressive singing in general) I highly recommend watching Glee on Hulu. Have a great weekend y’all.

Trailer Alert: Mindhunter
“How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks?”. That’s the final line in the trailer for Mindhunter, the crime thriller premiering on Netflix on October 13th. It’ll be 11 episodes long, and looks to continue the streaming platforms dominance in the era of prestige TV. The series focuses on Holden Ford, an agent in the FBI’s Elite Serial Crimes Unit, as he tries to get inside the minds of the most sadistic & unstable members of our society: serial killers & rapists. Anytime a show or movie tackles this subject matter, I’m always reminded of the Nietzsche quote – “Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one.”
It’s even more jarring when you remember that actual people have these kind of jobs, because surrounding yourself with these kinds of people and trying to figure out why they are the way they are can easily make you mad. The journey that Holden goes on in Mindhunter is going to lead him to some dark places, and I can’t wait to watch it unfold. Netflix, you’ve hooked me again.
