Things Got Real During A Tag Team Match Featuring Shinsuke Nakamura & Austin Aries At An NXT Live Event

Austin Aries teamed with Samoa Joe to take on NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura & No Way Jose at a recent NXT live event in Fresno, California. During the match, Nakamura nailed Aries with a stiff kick, and the referee threw up an ‘X’, which is wrestling speak for the match is over. The kick looked rough, and the gruesome injury was confirmed by Aries on Twitter:

That is all kinds of awful. Nakamura is known for working stiff, but this was clearly accidental. Aries will no doubt be off live events for a while, and hopefully he’s healed up for before TakeOver on November 19th. He’s been a great addition to NXT, so here’s hoping he’ll have a speedy recovery. Also, if you’re wondering how Nakamura’s foot looked after that kick, Aries was kind enough to show us that as well:

Bray Wyatt Was Injured At A WWE Live Event Last Night & The World Is A Cruel, Terrible Place

WWE confirmed that Bray Wyatt suffered a right calf injury in the match with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns tonight in Italy. As noted, the injury came when Wyatt was backing out of the corner after the referee’s 4 count. He slipped on the mat, landed bad and was unable to continue. A correspondent in attendance called it a freak accident.

WWE wrote the following:

Bray Wyatt suffered a right calf injury on Wednesday, WWE.com has learned. The injury came during Wyatt’s match on the first Live Event of WWE’s European tour in Milan, Italy.

We will keep you updated on Wyatt’s status.

God damn it. If you’ve watched the last two Raw’s, hopefully you’ve noticed a shift in character for THE most underutilized guy on the roster, Bray Wyatt. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Wyatt and his Family attacked the League of Nations, a heel faction. On this past Monday’s Raw, Wyatt tagged with the sweet handsome prince Roman Reigns in the main event, and even secured the winning pin fall. The crowd loved him both times, and it finally seemed WWE got the memo that Wyatt was too charismatic and unique to be a heel, so they let him do his thing and let the crowd be enamored with him. But since we can’t have nice things, Wyatt got hurt at a stupid live event last night, and it was one of those non contact injuries that haunt my dreams. Whenever something is described as a ‘freak accident’, it’s never a good thing, but I really hope Wyatt isn’t seriously hurt. It seems like they’re positioning him to chase the title after the Styles/Reigns feud, so maybe giving him a few weeks off to have him fresh for Extreme Rules wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. If he is seriously hurt, I’m going to light myself on fire.

The Rock Surprised The WWE Universe At A House Show In Boston On Saturday & Are You God Damn Kidding Me!?

Reaction GIF: are you kidding me?

The ONE event I don’t go to in Boston, not only does Chris Jericho wrestle, but The Rock decides to drop by out of the goodness of his heart. I’m thrilled for everyone who was there, but this is some bullshit. My friends and I go to every WWE event in Providence and Boston, and the one time we slip up, greatness happens. Apparently The Rock came out to confront Bo Dallas, which just sounds amazing. I really think The Rock is just obsessed with being the man, because this was an unannounced and unnecessary appearance. He could have laid low and enjoyed his down time during his movie shoot, but instead he’s showing up to WWE live events and making people go ape shit. Awesome stuff.

Hideo Itami Will Represent NXT In The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal At Wrestlemania 31

The former KENTA will now be the first out of the current crop of NXT talents to have his WrestleMania opponent, and there really wasn’t a bad choice in the bunch. NXT is full of guys who are already main roster ready, and Neville, Breeze and Balor will up on Raw in no time. I have to imagine Itami will get a mini showcase in the Battle Royal, and while he may not win it, this is probably the first time he’s wrestled in front of 70,000+ people and it will be a night he’ll never forget. Best of luck to Itami and the rest of the guys on the card. Sunday should be a special night.

New Nexus 7 Lineup

7-google-new-nexus-7-240713Among Google’s announcements yesterday was the new Nexus 7, Google’s 7inch tablet.  The original Nexus 7 broke ground in both price and performance and this year’s model is no different. Google has released 3 different models of the Nexus 7:

• 16gb wifi edition ($229)
• 32gb wifi edition ($269)
• 32gb LTE edition ($349)

The Google Nexus 7 is made by ASUS and packs a serious punch. With a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM, everything runs faster. Plus, high-performance rendering ensures 3D graphics are smooth and dynamic.

With dual-band Wi-Fi and optional 4G LTE, including support for hundreds of networks worldwide, you’ll stay entertained – and connected – wherever you are.” -Google

Along with the performance upgrades, they also added a rear facing camera, a higher resolution display, and made the whole form factor smaller and more compact.

If you ask me, this is still the best and cheapest 7inch tablet you can get. You could buy one nexus 7 and a Chromecast for every TV in your house, and still pay less than what an iPad costs.
