Jake “The Snake” Roberts Surprised the World on Raw Last Night and it Was Awesome

Anyone who’s followed this story from the beginning has to be happy for Jake Roberts. His personal demons almost killed him but with the help of DDP Yoga he transformed his life and looks great. Far and away the best part of Raw, mostly because it was so unexpected. The best moment for me was watching Ambrose, a professed chikdhood Jake Roberts fan, with a big smile on his face when Jake put the snake on him. Let’s hope Jake sticks around, and gets one more moment in the sun at the Rumble.

Jake Peavy is My Hero

(Source) “Life as a World Series champ is just ducky for Jake Peavy.

The Red Sox pitcher enjoyed his tour of Boston on one of the city’s famed  Duck Boats so much that he bought the amphibious auto right on the spot on  Saturday.

“We did three Patriots (parades), three Red Sox, one Bruins and one Celtics  and this is the first time it’s happened,” Cindy  Brown, a spokesperson for Boston Duck Tours told the Daily News. “It’s very  surprising but it sounds like, given his personality, it’s within him to do  something like that and make purchases that are kind of spontaneous.”

Peavy, 32, made news earlier in the season for another unplanned purchase  when he bought a cigar store Indian during a  trip to San Francisco.

“We went out to San Francisco, and things were just kind of, it wasn’t that  same attitude and the travel had kind of worn us down,” Peavy told Boston.com of  the decision to buy the figurine. “I was walking to the field on the day of my  start and walked past a smoke shop, a tobacco/liquor store. And I’m Indian, my  heritage is American Indian. And I walked by and saw just in the glass window  this fellow looking at me.”

Mike Napoli might have had the best parade day, but Jake Peavy was a close second. Buying the same duck boat that took you around Boston to celebrate a world series title that you just won is a championship caliber move. Maybe not the most practical move but whenever you can get your hands on a vehicle that can drive on pavement and float in water you have to do it. If Boston wins the championship next year Peavy might just buy the entire city a tin of Skoal. Is it April yet?

Meet The Chief, Jake Peavy’s Good Luck Charm

image

It’s been clear to me for awhile now that Jake Peavy is insane. Not serial killer insane, but yell at yourself on the mound/carry around a native american statue with a fake beard insane (not sure which is more troubling). Peavy brings “The Chief” everywhere the Red Sox go, shades of Pedro Martinez’s little friend Nelson that accompanied the Sox on their 2004 world championship run. This team is full of characters, and it looks like Peavy might be driving the crazy train with two feet on the gas. Whether it’s “The Chief”, the beards or a perfect combination of skill and luck, these Red Sox are sure as hell fun to watch. Another day closer to the parade.

Welcome To Boston Mr. Peavy

Red Sox making the biggest splash at the trade deadline so far landing White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy late last night. Although Peavy has been injury prone, I love the move. He’s not being brought in to be a savior, but rather fill a specific role. When Bucholtz returns from the DL, the Sox will have 7 legitimate starting pitchers, which means two will head to their over worked bullpen. The flip side of this trade is the loss of Jose Iglesias. A gifted fielder, Iglesias never truly found his bat in a Red Sox uniform. He did get off to a hot start, winning AL Rookie of the Month in June, but his batting average has tumbled almost 100 points in July. Add in the fact that the Red Sox signed veteran SS Stephen Drew in the offseason, and Iggy basically became the odd man out. He’s going to be a joy to watch in Detroit, and I think I speak for everyone in Red Sox Nation when I say I wish him all the best. As for our own playoff race, I’m excited we added a proven veteran arm for the home stretch. If only the Rays would lose a game once in awhile, we’d be in good shape.

P.S. His new nickname is Jake The Snake right? That can’t even be a question. Jake The Snake it is.
