I’m sure Taraji P. Henson will be a great host, as she gets rave reviews on Empire and she’s been solid in movies for almost 20 years now, but Michael Keaton is the big coup here. This will be Keaton’s third time hosting, and he’s fresh off being nominated for every acting award under the sun in Birdman. He’s one of those guys who you don’t automatically assume is funny, but if you go back and look at his work, almost all of it has some kind of smart humor in it. His most recent comedic turn was probably in Birdman and The Other Guys, but movies like Multiplicity and Beetlejuice show off his funny side as well. With The Rock hosting this Saturday, we’ve got three new SNL’s in a row, which will probably be followed by a few week break before season 40 ends sometime in May. Fingers crossed for a Jon Hamm season finale.

HBO Released Another Teaser Trailer For the Final Season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’

HBO is usually very vague with their teaser trailers, especially ones that pertain to the final season of a show, and the latest one for ‘Boardwalk Empire’ is no different. What makes ‘Boardwalk’ different from other shows on the air is that it’s a period piece, following characters who actually existed in real life. All you need to do is a Google search and you can find out what happened to Al Capone, or Lucky Luciano, or even Enoch Thompson. It’s also interesting that the show is jumping ahead to 1931, as Chalky White looks noticeably older with a grey beard (Steve Buscemi looks the same. I actually picture him being born a middle aged man). There are a lot of great characters who have a lot of loose ends to tie up in the final season, so it should a fast paced, action packed set of episodes.

Here is the Teaser Trailer For the Final Season of HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’

HBO does a lot of things well, but nobody can touch their trailer game for TV shows. They could take a show about a dolphin and whale getting it on and make it look like a Scorsese masterpiece in the trailer. Fortunately for HBO, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ is pretty much the TV version of a Scorsese masterpiece (he’s an executive producer) but that doesn’t stop them from putting out teaser trailers that really peak your interest. According to Michael K. Williams, who plays Chalky White, season 5 will take place seven years after season 4, which puts the show in the time frame of the Great Depression. We’re given a heavy dose of Nucky in this trailer, and it shouldn’t be surprising if the final season revolves around his new, lonely world. ‘Boardwalk Empire’ returns for it’s final season this September.
