Dirk Nowitzki Agrees To a 2 Year Deal With Dallas & Will Be A Maverick For His Entire Career
DIRK – The Dallas Mavericks and veteran big man Dirk Nowitzki have hammered out the framework of a new contract that sets Nowitzki up to earn $40 million over the next two seasons and play until age 40, according to league sources.
Dirk Nowitzki Continues To Be A Magical German Unicorn Even After Getting Rejected By The Rim
Yooo. That rim was 12 feet high… https://t.co/fr2SBPXvTl
— Dirk Nowitzki (@swish41) January 6, 2016
Dirk has never been known as the fastest guy, or the highest jumper. But what he does do well is score the basketball, which is why he’s 6th on the all time scoring list. It is nice to see when things don’t go his way, such as getting rejected by the rim at 7 feet tall, that he has a sense of humor about it. I hope he plays forever.

Stephen Curry Is Playing On A Different Level Right Now & This Video Is Magical Proof
Steph Curry is from a different planet, but you already knew that. He scored 40 points (again) last night, but the best part of that entire game and maybe the entire season is at the 11 second mark in the above video. Steph’s teammate Andrew Bogut is in the low post and getting double teamed, so he kicks it out to an almost unbelievably open Steph, and the rest of the play is magical. Bogut begins running up the floor BEFORE Steph even shoots because he knows it’s going in, and Kemba Walker takes one step towards Steph but also knows the result, and just kind of sulks while the balls swooshes through the net. I really hope the Warriors breaks the Bulls single season wins record, and I hope Steph Curry plays until he’s 100 years old.

Lebron James Thinks Lebron James Should Be The MVP Of The NBA This Season
NBA – Who would get LeBron James’ vote for this season’s Most Valuable Player?
Why, LeBron James, of course.
On Wednesday, the National Basketball Players Association announced that NBA players will be able to vote in their own regular-season awards, called the “Players Choice Awards,” for the first time this year.
James told ESPN that he knows exactly who’d get his vote for MVP:
James said that players can’t vote for themselves for awards. But who would his vote be for MVP this year?
“Myself,” James said.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star added that he strongly supports the idea of players voting for awards.
“Guys are going to be able to recognize the guys they play against every night and what they do for their franchises,” the four-time MVP told ESPN.
Everybody give Lebron James a big round of applause. He somehow got an impossibly talented team to second place in the incredible Eastern Conference where only 5 teams are above .500, so obviously he should be the MVP. And just like Kanye loves him some Kanye, Lebron loves him some Lebron. Just like every other team Lebron was ever on, I hope the Cavs get mauled in the playoffs, which probably won’t happen until the second round since the team they play in the first round will most likely end up with more losses than wins on the season. I know teams have no control over how sucky the rest of the conference is, but they do have control over thinking they actually accomplished something this year. Lebron, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love make up three of the starting five players. You could realistically put me and Matt at the other two positions and win 40 games in the Eastern Conference. Since they did not do that, they have JR Smith and Timofey Mozgov round out the starting five, and although his name is spelt kind of stupidly, Mozgov is a pretty decent center. I’m not drinking the Lebron for MVP Kool-Aid, and I’m much more interested in guy’s like Steph Curry and James Harden, who actually play in a real conference.

Kevin Garnett’s Return To Minnesota Is Your Daily Reminder That Sports Are Awesome
This is one of those moments that you can’t really put into words. Kevin Garnett is one of, if not the greatest competitor in the history of basketball, and maybe even sports in general. You can personally love him or hate him, but his intensity and skill can not be denied. Also, his importance to the Timberwolves franchise is incomparable. He’s first in franchise history in points, rebounds, assists, steals and every other major statistcal category. He may won a title in Boston and played a few forgettable seasons in Brooklyn, but when you think of the Minnesota Timberwolves, you think of Kevin Garnett. As a side note, how great is it for Andrew Wiggins to have KG in Minnesota? He’s already had a great rookie year, and now with KG there to constantly pushing him to get better, he should be one of the best players in the league sooner rather than later.

It’s Official, I Hate Drake
I know this is a few days old but I wanted to think long and hard before I used the H word on Drake. I like his music. He was funny on SNL. But outside of performing he just sucks. Where was Drake before this game that he needed to 1. bring a lint roller and 2. actually use it. Does he volunteer at a cat shelter in his spare time? Did he get into a fluffy pillow fight with one of the thousands of friends he has and the pillow got ripped and feathers floated all over his pants? The number one reason I hate Drake is because he disguises a trip to his hometown basketball team’s playoff game as being a true fan when in reality it’s all about him. If he was going to the game to root on the Raptors, he wouldnt sit front row and bring a lint roller. He wants everyone in the world to see his stupid face and to let you know he’s better than you with his gold chains and expensive shirts and lint rollers. Well I’m going to proudly walk around with my lint covered clothes in protest. That’ll show ’em.

Frank Carpano Might Have the Best Reporter Warmup Routine in the Game Today
Rhode Island’s finest, everybody. That’s how the true pro’s get ready for live TV. Thumb to the face and tongue sticking it out like it ain’t no thang. I’m not 100% sure that we can rule out a stroke, but if it wasn’t then Frank needs to work on his game face. I know a Rhode Island college basketball team hasn’t been THIS good in awhile, but that’s no excuse. You’re better than this, Frank. Lock it up.
