Plans Are In Place To Have Kurt Angle Wrestle In Some Capacity For The WWE

Ever since Kurt Angle was announced as the headliner of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class, fans like myself started fantasy booking some type of return to the ring. Would he link up with American Alpha? Would he reignite old feuds with AJ Styles or Samoa Joe? Would he start something new with Finn Balor, Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens? Up until this point those were all pipe dreams, but a new report from the Wrestling Observer is giving people newfound hope. While nothing is set in stone and Angle would have to pass WWE’s rigorous medical testing, it’s a step in the right direction. It goes without saying that Angle is one of the most physically gifted and entertaining wrestlers of all time, so any type of send off in addition to the Hall of Fame induction would be fantastic.

The Miz Cut One Of The Best Promo’s Of His Career Last Night On Talking Smack

After last night’s Smackdown broadcast, Daniel Bryan joined Renee Young for ‘Talking Smack’ like he always does. During the final segment, the Miz interrupted Young and Bryan and asked why he and his IC title haven’t been featured more on Smackdown. Well The Miz got his answer, and it was a real one: Daniel Bryan thinks the Miz fights like a coward, and embodies that soft style that WWE used to be known for. Now, there’s going to a lot of discussion about what happened next, and my opinion on it is that it went down pretty much exactly as it what supposed to. You don’t have a guy interrupt a segment asking why he isn’t featured, then get called out for being a coward AND then have him cut the promo of his life by accident. Daniel Bryan walking off and Renee Young not knowing what to do made the entire segment that much more compelling, and this is the type of  realistic stuff the WWE should be doing. If someone calls you a coward in real life, that is how you’d respond. I’m not saying everyone will be able to handle cutting this type of promo, but you know Miz can, and he went out and delivered. The only thing that would’ve made this better is if Daniel Bryan wasn’t seriously hurt and could get back in the ring and rip Miz’s arms off.

Blaine’s Back – SummerSlam Preview and Predictions

This year’s WrestleMania 31 was one of the biggest yet, and SummerSlam looks to build on the hype that was reaching fever pitch at the end of July’s WWE Battleground. So far, 2015 has been a massive success for the sports entertainment juggernaut that many had begun to count out amid drops in TV ratings and waning popularity. However, the success of the online-enabled WWE Network and increased focus on top-notch pay-per-view events has paid off in spades for Vince McMahon and company.

While TV ratings may have dropped to a near-all time low for the industry, more of this can be contributed to the decline of network and cable television rather than the WWE itself. Despite the dip in ratings, the company is doing just fine and announced the highest quarterly revenue in company history for the first quarter of 2015.

14413_Taker_v_LesnarA new crop of bankable stars along with a concerted effort to shift to a more interactive and on-demand model with fans has helped the company stay ahead of the curve and remain afloat in a business that sees many others continuing to flounder. One thing that continues to pique interest among fans and casual sports enthusiasts alike is the increased ubiquity of gambling on professional wrestling events. It’s totally legit and, you know, a thing that you can actually do. While you can’t place a wager on regular events like “RAW,” for example, many bookmakers offer odds on the larger events like WrestleMania and SummerSlam with tons of fun side bets.

For us, if you’re going to do some sports betting, you need to do it right and that means Vegas (if you can swing it, of course). We think the best place to sit down and watch it all go down is definitely the MGM Grand with its plush leather seats, plenty of space and veritable ton of TVs. The casino’s sports booking service has 36 different 60-inch screens and 24 different 42-inch screens. You’ll never watch wrestling the same way again and there’s no better way to make sure you catch every inch of the action. Read the rest of this entry

Monday Night Raw – Punk’s Return Set for his Hometown of Chicago?

Who knows what Vince has up his sleeve for Monday Night Raw. All I know is Ryan and I went through every possible scenario for his return on the train ride home from New York yesterday. We aren’t holding our breath though. If it was meant to happen, it was meant to happen. In Vince we trust. (Hint: it was meant to happen)

-Matt

PS- Am I going to have to start saying “in Vince & HHH we trust”? Because after all the work HHH has done with the training center and NXT he deserves a lot of credit. Just a thought, jump down my throat in the comment section!

Lebron James Just Made Me Love The Shit Out of Him

Anyone who buys WWE Championship belts for all his teammates is ok in my book!

-Matt

PS- how about that plug for WWE Network. Coincidence? Nothing is coincidence when you have Vinnie Mac in your corner. I wouldn’t be surprised of he sent the belts to Lebron and let the King take credit.

It’s Officially 1991 All Over Again: Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker Both Returned on Raw Last Night

If WWE fans have the balls to complain about last night’s Raw, then maybe they should just stop watching. Are you going to complain that two of the greatest superstars returned on the same night? How about you complain about the two really good matches between Cesaro/Big E and Daniel Bryan/Kane. Or maybe you can complain about the Bray Wyatt/Roman Reigns match that everyone has been clamoring for yet the live crowd shit all over. Or that Hulk Hogan’s boa was too long or Undertaker’s hair was too short. I really don’t think any combination of three hour show is ever going to make wrestling fans happy. If I’m the WWE I would say screw the fans and do whatever makes you the most money. Then turn that money sideways and stick it straight up their candy asses.

It’s WWE Network Day!

The Get Down

Goodbye social life. It’s been real.

Happy Elimination Chamber Weekend!

The road to WrestleMania (and the WWE network) is well under way, with only tomorrows Elimination Chamber and a handful of Raw’s and Smackdown’s separating us from the granddaddy of them all. The Elimination Chamber isn’t usually included on most people’s list of the “Big 4” pay per views but more times than not it’s the first time we see most of the WrestleMania matches take shape. While wrestling sites have been speculating for weeks about the WrestleMania matches for most of the main eventers on the current rosters, there is one man who’s immediate future can literally go in any direction.

The giant swinging, receding hairlining, no knee pads needed Cesaro. I’m not here to pump Cesaro’s tires, or say he should be in the main event of WrestleMania, because he shouldn’t..yet. I’m here to plead, PLEAD, the WWE to do one thing this Sunday at the Elimination Chamber: end the show with Cesaro and Daniel Bryan in the ring. I dare anyone to tell me with a straight face that Cesaro, or Bryan, eliminating Randy Orton after the other three competitors have already been eliminated wouldn’t blow the goddamn roof off of the Target Center in Minneapolis. This match needs a title change, and it needs a title change that isn’t in jeopardy until the final pin fall. Why not let the last two participants be Bryan and Cesaro, so the WWE Universe knows the title HAS to change hands? Sheamus and Christian are non stories, John Cena, as much as I respect him, doesn’t need the title. Give me 10 minutes of Bryan and Cesaro to close the PPV and I’m a happy man. Or have HHH screw over Bryan, Orton win and create the worst WrestleMania main event in the history of the world. Balls in your court, WWE. Just know that denying Cesaro, is denying a 100 rotation swing.
