Trailer Alert – Baby Driver (Trailer 3)
I know I sound like a broken record. “Matt, why are you posting ANOTHER Baby Driver trailer? You already posted two!” I hear you. I really do. I’m just not going to listen. Baby Driver is the movie of the year…maybe decade, and you don’t even know it yet! Yes, I’m soft when it comes to critiquing movies, but when a film comes along and reminds me why I love movies in the first place…well that’s something special. This flick isn’t going to make you cry (like how I was sobbing in Wonder Woman), but it will give you the meanest set of goosebumps you’ve ever had. I can’t for ya’ll to see this.

Trailer Alert – American Made
It’s easy to make fun of Tom Cruise and his Scientology shenanigans and how he’s always running in his movie trailers and how he went loco on Oprah’s couch. While all those things are true, you absolutely cannot deny that Tom Cruise is a megastar who at his peak, was THE guy in Hollywood. In a 13 year stretch from 1983-96 he made Risky Business, Top Gun, The Color of Money, Cocktail, Rain Man, Born on the Fourth of July, Days of Thunder, A Few Good Men, Mission Impossible & Jerry Maguire. Those are 10 monster, all time movies and it was only ONE part of his movie career. I enjoy all of the Mission Impossible movies (and I’m not a huge fan of sequels) plus he was great in Collateral, stole the show in Tropic Thunder and is underrated in Jack Reacher and Edge of Tomorrow. The new Mummy movie that comes out at the end of this week looks great, he’s announced Top Gun: Maverick and now we get the trailer for what looks like an absolute blast of a movie, American Made.
American Made is all the best parts of Tom Cruise: he’s a great action movie actor, can always add in some subtle humor and similar to Leo DiCaprio, he is at his best when he’s playing someone who we should think is a sleaze ball, but we root for him because the actor playing him is so damn good and charismatic. This movie is parts Catch Me If You Can, Blow & the best parts of Cruise’s characters in all his 80s movies. Tom Cruise is back baby, and I can’t wait to get sucked into his movies again.

Netflix Reminder: The 3rd & Final Season of Bloodline Starts Streaming Today
Memorial Day Weekend isn’t the ideal binge watching TV weekend, but that might change with the third and final season of Bloodline arriving today. While Netflix originals like Orange is the New Black & House of Cards might get more attention, Bloodline has been a great show over the past two seasons. It sports an incredibly consistent case and centers around an issue a lot of people can relate to: family drama. While the Rayburns family drama might be a little more intense than your normal family drama, it makes for riveting TV. I’ll be sad to see it go.

Trailer Alert: GLOW
The coolest part about GLOW, the newest Netflix original series from the minds who gave us Orange is the New Black, is that it’s all based on real life. GLOW was a women’s wrestling organization in the mid to late 80s that was unlike anything that came before it and hasn’t come close to being replicated since. I watched a documentary GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling a few years ago and it opened my eyes to this wonderful universe that I never knew existed, so I’m glad that Alison Brie, Marc Maron and everyone else in the cast will be bringing it back to life. While the original GLOW stars were relatively unknown, some of them went on to mainstream success. Lisa Moretti, known to WWE fans as Ivory, was a staple of the Attitude Era Women’s division in the late 90’s and early 2000s while others like Olympia Hartauer and Trudy Adams wrestled for the AWA and WWF in the 80s and 90s.
GLOW is a fascinating story, and I’m happy to see it being told again. All episodes will be available June 23rd.

Trailer Alert – Game Of Thrones Season 7 #GOT
Shit is going DOWN. Game of Thrones was never going to win any awards for speedy character and plot developments, but it’s such a beautifully shot and written series that no one seemed to mind. Now that we have a finite number of episodes left , it seems that the pace of the show is going to ramp up. The cast is on record saying that the pace of season 7 far exceeds any previous seasons, and the latest official trailer backs that up. The most interesting characters to follow for me are Cersei and Jaime, as the Lannisters literally blew shit up last year to retake control. Conspicuous by their absence are the White Walkers, but Jon Snow does make mention of the ‘Great War’, and Davos pleads for teamwork (something that every character is known for) because it won’t matter who takes the Iron Throne if they’re all skeletons. ICE SKELETONS. This is no longer a drill: we’re only a little over 7 weeks away from the season 7 premiere.

Trailer Alert – Spider-Man Homecoming
This is the last Spider-Man trailer before the movie hits theaters on July 7, 2017. Enjoy!
This trailer shines a light on the Stark Spider Suit (My name for it) while keeping The Vulture in the shadows. With this being the last trailer before release, I am super happy with how Marvel approached these trailers. They built excitement without revealing too much plot. Well done.

P.S. – Young Lando sighting!
Trailer Alert – Battle of the Sexes
I would try to entice you into watching this trailer, but all I have to say is “Steve Carell and Emma Stone”.
I think Steve Carell’s versatility as an actor is SEVERELY underrated. Like shockingly underrated. This movie should help him with that and help Emma Stone break out the the typecast she has found herself in. “Battle of the Sexes” showcases The 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

Trailer Alert: War Machine
The Netflix takeover continues to roll full steam ahead, and we’re only two weeks away from War Machine premiering on the streaming platform. This movie had me at ‘Brad Pitt war movie’ but this new trailer has a lot to offer. Brad Pitt seemed to summon a few of Aldo Rayne’s mannerisms for his portrayal of fictional General Glen McMahon and this trailer has all the signs of a great performance. Rounding out the cast is Anthony Michael Hall, Ben Kingsley, Tilda Swinton and one of my favorite young actors Emory Cohen (The Place Beyond The Pines, The OA). War Machine beings streaming May 26th.
