Music Monday: Miley Cyrus – 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover (Paul Simon Cover from #SNL40)
One of the lesser talked about moments from SNL 40 earlier this month were the musical guests. While Paul McCartney, Paul Simon and Kanye West chose to play their own songs, Miley Cyrus used her time to pay tribute to one of the most influential musicians to appear on SNL, Paul Simon. Her cover of ’50 Ways To Leave Your Lover’ was great, and proves that behind all the crazy antics, Miley can straight up sing when she wants to.

Music Monday – Avenged Sevenfold
I wanted to pick a song that would truly parallel the weather in the northeast over the next few days. If you didn’t know, or don’t live here we are getting a huge blizzard. I couldn’t find anything besides christmas songs so here’s A7X
Ryan’s Music Monday: Sam Smith – Life Support
I went to see Sam Smith on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, and good Lord can that son of a bitch sing. He only has one album out, so the set was shorter than most acts that play the Garden, but anyone worried about his voice translating to a live crowd should go check him out. Top notch performer.

Music Monday – Sexual Healing
This week’s Music Monday song is nothing new, i’ve probably featured Marvin more times than any other artist, but what is new is the manner in which it is played; Enter Hot 8 Brass Band. I discovered this song from the 2014 movie ‘Chef’ (which is amazing, please find it somewhere and rent it!). The whole soundtrack is dynamite, but this song really puts a rhythm in my feet.

Discovered this song last week, and the video was brought to my attention earlier today by our creative consultant. Great song and video! The type of song you could slow dance to, but what do i know.

Music Monday: Foo Fighters
Here is the first Song off of Foo Fighters new album “Sonic Highways”. Always loved Foo Fighters, and their new HBO documentary on the making of this album has got me really into them lately. Great show if you love music and documentaries…..and Dave Grohl, who doesn’t love Dave Grohl!

Music Monday: Mike Stud – So Good (Remix)
I wanted to inject some Rhode Island flavor into Music Monday, and Mike Stud fits the bill. The All American baseball pitcher at Duke turned rapper continues to gain steam in the music industry, and this is one of my favorite remixes that he covers. The original song, also titled “So Good”, was done by rapper B.O.B, but Stud puts his own little spin on it that always has me jamming out. Enjoy.

Music Monday – Stay With Me (1940s Big Band Cover)
Sam Smith is one of those artists that are so good you never think anyone else could cover their song and it would sound better. The Big Band cover of ‘Stay With Me’ may not be better than the original, but it’s an awesome cover version. ‘Stay With Me’ is slower and soulful, while this cover just gets me all jazzed up (no pun intended). ‘Stay With Me’ is just the tip of the iceberg, as they do a ton of vintage covers on modern day songs.
