Scotland has a National Animal and it’s a Unicorn

While I lay in my bed last night a strange thought ran across my mind. What is the national animal of Scotland? My inner professional investigator came to life and I went to the most credible source out there, Wikipedia. I hit search and what comes up? Unicorn! Unicorn!? Unicorn? Is Scotland so desperate for attention that it is going to try and steal Florida’s title of craziest place on Earth? It definitely seems like it’s working.

Adam “The Snake Roberts” Devine Joins The Cast of Modern Family

“Are two Mannys too many for the Pritchett-Delgado household? We’ll find out on ABC’s Modern Family when Gloria (Sofia Vergara) hires a cute new male nanny to look after baby Joe. Adam DeVine (Comedy Central’s Workaholics, Pitch Perfect) has been cast in the recurring role. Executive producer Christopher Lloyd describes the manny as a nice guy from the Midwest who is “fun and matches Gloria’s energy in the house. But he doesn’t want to just take care of the baby. He wants to sort of revive the entire household, which leads to some territorial clashes with Jay [Ed O’Neill] and Manny [Rico Rodriguez].” – Huffington Post

First it was Anders Holm who guest starred on the ABC comedy as a potential buyer for Claire and Mitch’s flipped house. Now it appears Adam Devine will join the cast of Modern Family as baby Joe’s male nanny. Another big step for the Workaholics gang, who are hands down three of the funniest guys on TV today. Beyonce Debuts Short Hair. In Other News, I Want To Bang Beyonce

Beyonce, this hair cut does it for me in all the right places.  Short hair on a woman is a thin line (or hair) that needs to be straddled carefully, but Beyonce, you did it! Looking like an absolute smoke show.

Now lets take a look at other women that pull of the short hair look.

Spike Jonze’s “Her” Trailer

Is there anything Joaquin Phoenix can’t do? Her is a semi futuristic love story between a struggling writer (Phoenix) and his new at home computer operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson). Phoenix’s character is fresh off a break up, and he finds solace in the virtual company of his new “Siri” like computer system. If Scarlet Johansson’s voice kept me company after a bad breakup, I’d probably fall in love with it too. This is definitely a unique plot, but with Jonze at the helm, I’m excited for what it could be. Her hits theaters November 20th.

P.S. According to the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Her will be closing the NY Film Festival, which runs from September 27th-October 13th. Other films screening at the festival include Captain Phillips, the action thriller starring Tom Hanks and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which we posted last week, starring Ben Stiller.

Don & Jerry: America’s Greatest Comedy Team

Abbott and Costello. The Marx Brothers. Penn and Teller. There is no doubt in my mind that Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy are America’s newest comedy dream team. Not only are they the best broadcast team in baseball, but they are also the most entertaining. Last night during the Red Sox/Astro’s game, Don and Jerry donned foam cowboy hats to try and spark a Red Sox rally. While the hats were long gone in the top of the 9th, I have a funny feeling that they helped Stephen Drew hit that game winning home run. Whether they’re wearing funny hats, discussing each other’s chest hair or catching fans in a touchy feely moment like the video above, they make watching a baseball game fun.

P.S. How bout them Red Sox! Love that dirty water.
