Neil deGrasse Tyson is the Most Pessimistic Person in the World
Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist. Do I know what an astrophysicist does? Why yes I do. They bitch and moan about the authenticity of science fiction movies. Here’s a snippet from Neil’s Twitter account last night, apparently after he saw the new movie Gravity.
Talk about an exciting life, eh? I mean Jesus Christ Neil give it up. 98% of the population doesn’t even know what you’re talking about. We get it, you’re an astrophysicist. You physicize Astros. Congratulations. Hey Neil, the movie made $55 million in 3 days. I doubt anyone cares about your scientifc opinion on a goddamn fake movie. Clooney and Sandra Bullock must be wiping away their tears with $100 bills after seeing this twitter rant. To be honest, the most frustrating part of this entire situation is that someone who looks like Neil has the balls to criticize George Clooney.
This is what Lionel Richie would look like if he completely let himself go.
Miley Cyrus Has Found Her Savior
Miley’s second stint as host of SNL was a success in my eyes (review coming tomorrow), and her two musical performances were effective, yet surprisingly subtle. After her outrageous performance at the VMAs, many people thought Miley was going to make a fool out of herself again on live TV. Instead, Miley toned down her act, and instead of feeling herself up.with a foam finger, she showcased her great vocal talent. She performed “Wrecking Ball”, her newest single, earlier in the show, and followed that up with a very cool acoustic version of “We Can’t Stop” (video above). Why did Miley act like such an ass on MTV yet so classy on SNL? The easy answer would be that she has more respect for SNL, because the VMAs are the trashiest award show of all time. But after doing a little bit of research, I found a different reason. Two words: midget. guitarist.
There are two things I know to be true: 1. George Clooney is a God amongst men and 2. Midget guitarists are soul soothers. You don’t act up when a midget guitarist is around. You just don’t.

Hands down funniest sketch of the night. Every impression here was pretty good. Beck Bennett as Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Bobby Moynihan as Seth Rogen, Noel Wells as Emma Stone and Taran Killam as Christoph Waltz were all spot on. “That’s a bingo!”. But Kenan Thompson absolutely stole the show as Steve Harvey. “Gonna have to give me about a half an hour on these buttons”. Awesome sketch.
Mornin’ Miami
“Good morning!” “Is it? “Is it a good morning?” Fun sketch, with Moynihan, McKinnon and Cyrus playing talk show hosts who are miserable off air, but turn on the charm when the camera’s are rolling. Miley shows she can do more than just make fun of her performance at the VMA’s. To watch the video of the sketch, click here.

We knew SNL wasn’t going to miss an opportunity to spoof the government shutdown. Set to one of Miley’s hit singles “We Can’t Stop”. Killam, Miley and newcomer Brooks Whelan jump all over the Republican party as John Boehner, Michelle Bachmann and a demented Uncle Sam, respectively.
Weekend Update
Vanessa Bayer as Jacob was great, as was Kate McKinnon as Pat Lynhart, a mother from Connecticut who is obsessed with Grand Theft Auto 5. Her bulging eyes are perfect for psychopathic characters, and Pay Lynhart “eats cocaine for breakfast”. Jay Pharaoh as an over the top lip licking Shannon Sharpe was also great.
I know a lot of people are going to hate on this show just because Miley hosted. I thought it was another good show, not every sketch was a hit but the majority were. Her two musical performances, “Wrecking Ball” and an acoustic version of “We Can’t Stop” were also very good. She’s no Timberlake, but she was 1000x better than Bieber. I’m also glad she didn’t try and use SNL as a publicity stunt like she did at the VMAs. 7.3333333/10 for this guy. Next week: Bruce Willis is the host, Katy Perry and her sweater puppies will be the musical guest.

Hulk Hogan’s Hostamania Video is the Most Disturbing Thing I’ve Ever Seen
I’m honestly not sure what to think here. I just have so many questions. Why would you dress someone up to look like Hulk Hogan when you actually have Hulk Hogan in the commercial? Why is the man hanging upside down eating a crayon? Of all the music videos he could have spoofed, why pick Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus, which for some reasons requires him to wear a thong? Why? I don’t know, and I hope I never find out. I just know that the image of Hulk Hogan riding a wrecking ball in a thong while simultaneously smacking his own ass will haunt me forever.
