Melissa McCarthy joined the Five Timer’s Club on Saturday night and hosted a pretty good episode. If you told me two weeks ago that Chris Pine would outshine McCarthy I would’ve called you crazy and tried to physically harm you, but Pine was tremendous. McCarthy was great too, but I enjoyed Pine’s a little more. My favorite sketch from McCarthy’s show was Film Panel, featuring the return of the wonderful Debette Goldry. McCarthy plays fellow aging actress Gaye Fontaine, and this sketch has enough one liners to fill an entire episode. McCarthy adds a slight lisp to her character for no apparent reason, but much like everything else she does, it’s gold.
