The Nostalgia Machine Strikes Again – Netflix Might Be Ordering A New Season Of ‘Full House’
BOB – Netflix is one step closer to ordering a new season of “Full House,” the ABC sitcom that ran from 1987-95 starring John Stamos and Bob Saget.
According to TVLine.com, which broke the news, the new show would be called “Fuller House” and would focus on Candace Cameron Bure’s character of eldest daughter D.J. and her best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).
A Netflix rep said the report is “just a rumor,” without elaborating. Warner Bros., which produced the sitcom, declined to comment.

I’m a sucker for nostalgia, but I think Netflix might be going a little overboard here. They were putting so much time and resources into new shows and projects, and it’s really starting to pay off with the success of House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. I just finished season 1 of their new show Bloodlines, and it was awesome. They picked up The Killing when AMC dropped it and finished that show off perfectly. I just feel like trying to recreate something like Full House is a waste of their time. Everybody knows the Olsen twins were the best part of that show. We put up with the shenanigans of the other cast members because Michelle Tanner was a goddamn national treasure. If you take her out of the show it’s terrible. Netflix clearly has the right people in charge, and you only have to look as far as their original content for proof of that. While I’m sure bringing back Full House will win them some fans, I think they’re better off sticking to creating more original content. In the long run, that’s what’s going to separate them from the pack. Side note: Fuller House is a horrible name.
