BILLY – Many assumed that Chris Pratt would host SNL this season, possibly even the premiere. Now, it’s all but official: Splitsider reports that “according to several sources — including news posts yesterday by local NBC affiliate sites that have since been taken down,” the Guardians of the Galaxy star will host an early season 40 episode, along with Sarah Silverman and BILL MOTHERF*CKING MURRAY.

The musical guests: Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, and Hozier. Expect an official announcement very soon.

I expected SNL to bring out the big guns for their 40th anniversary year, but in my wildest dreams I did not expect Bill Murray to host an episode. He was probably going to be at the 40th anniversary special in February, but getting his own episode to host is a special kind of awesome. It’s also not completely random either, since St. Vincent comes out October 24th. Oh yeah, and Chris Pratt is hosting this year, too. SNL for the mother fucking win.
